Philosophy
Pumpkin Patch Preschool encourages the development of the whole child by providing a stimulating, age-appropriate environment. A high standard of professional expertise and care in a safe and nurturing environment is maintained. Parents are recognized as the primary teachers in the lives of their children. By forming family partnerships, the children are fully supported while becoming actively involved in the learning process.
Program Description
Our curriculum aims to nurture learning and skills to help your children make the most of the educational system. The use of the Wyoming Early Learning Standards guides the daily practices to support all children.
In addition to the Wyoming Early Learning Standards, Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is a framework of principles and guidelines for best practices in the care and education of young children, birth through age 8. It is grounded both in the research on how young children develop and learn and in what is known about educational effectiveness.
Teachers emphasize learning through play, socialization, and kindergarten readiness skills with a focus on the individual strengths of each child. Our program introduces letter sounds, words in print and number concepts using a natural approach with an emphasis on the idea that these concepts are fully explored in kindergarten.
Children are encouraged and challenged at their own level. Teachers work together to promote best practices across the board for all children. This facility does not provide infant care (non-walkers) or overnight care.
